Summer break is ending along with vacations, barbecues and summer activities. As you prepare to get your kids back to their school routines don’t forget to get back to your regular fitness routine. Here are a few tips for getting back in shape during back to school season:
Set a new schedule to workout
Reset your workout schedule to fit your kids’ school schedule. Whether you work out early in the morning, during your lunch break or right before picking up the kids, choose the best time that works for you. Setting a weekly schedule will help you develop the habit of getting back to your workout routine.
Consider short and sweet workout routines
Getting the kids prepped for school along with work prep can cut into your workout minutes if you don’t plan carefully. An effective workout doesn’t require a lot of time. Set a timer for your workout to stay on schedule. Join a group exercise class or work with a personal trainer to maximize your time at the gym.
Include your family in your workout
It’s tempting after school and work to spend family time in front of the TV. Encourage your family to live an active lifestyle by taking a walk, riding bikes, participating in sports and more. Make fitness fun and a part of your family’s weekly routine.
