How do you know what techniques to use as you work out or if you are using proper form to achieve the best results? At THFC we’re here to support you with expert advice, programs and services that will give you the information and confidence to reach your health and fitness goals. Here are five tips for beginners at the gym:
Set a regular workout schedule—Whether you schedule time first thing in the morning or later in the evening, it’s important to plan time to work out in your schedule. A workout schedule helps you to form the habit of making exercise a part of your life. A schedule ensures that you not only start strong in your workout routine, but that you remain consistent.
Get a FREE fitness assessment—The Polar BodyAge® assessment is a FREE and accurate evaluation of your current fitness status. This assessment will provide you the information you need to set goals for your health and fitness. As you train toward your goals, a follow-up assessment will show your progress and encourage you to continue to improve your fitness status.
Utilize our fitness specialists— Do you have specific questions regarding your workout routine? Our degreed and certified fitness specialists can help! They provide help and assistance during a group exercise class or individualized attention and advice during a personal training session. Our fitness specialists will teach you how to use equipment safely and effectively as well as proper form and technique.
Try a group exercise class—Group exercise classes are available for all fitness levels and are FREE with your gym membership. This is a great opportunity to learn new techniques, get motivation from your classmates and try a variety of workout disciplines that are fun and effective.
Reward Yourself—Plan a fun activity to reward yourself after a workout. This will help motivate you to reach your goals. Another reward is to plan a workout date with a friend, you’ll spend quality time with your friends and get fit at the same time.
