The Health & Fitness Center at Washtenaw Community College is excited to highlight one of our amazing fitness specialists, Nate Carbeck! Nate teaches TRX® Circuit, a member-favorite at the fitness center. If you haven’t tried this class yet, read on to learn a bit more about the format and how you can benefit from TRX training.
What inspired you to lead the TRX Circuit class?
NC: I was inspired by the group and how energetic and passionate they are about the class. It made me want to do everything in my power to make sure that it is an enjoyable experience for them.
What do you enjoy most about teaching this format?
NC: I change the circuit program every month so that it keeps the participants engaged and they still feel challenged. Having three different stations each time gives both the participants and me something new to try each month, allowing us to continue to get stronger and feel better.
How do you see participants benefit from attending?
NC: I think that this is a great way for the participants to start their day, and it sets them off on the right foot. I notice that their endurance has improved, and they all do a great job pushing themselves to make positive change. It is largely the same core group that keeps coming back, which gives me the opportunity to see how much progress they have made.
What makes this class stand out from other formats?
NC: I love the circuit format in this class because it gives participants the opportunity to use different pieces of equipment and focus on different muscle groups all within the same hour. Having that variety, as well as a different program routine every month, is something that no other class offers.
About TRX Circuit.
TRX Circuit classes contain a mixture of basic TRX exercises and non-TRX exercises, both strength and cardio. TRX exercises rely on your body weight and the force of gravity to provide resistance, making them a versatile and effective way to build strength and endurance. All levels are welcome.
