What is the difference between Health and Fitness Coaching and Personal Training?
Health and Fitness Coaching is more than just fitness. Our coaches help you with your overall health and fitness goals such as: exercise, stress, sleep, eating habits, motivation, and so on by keeping you accountable through Volt Guided Fitness (VOLT) and coaching sessions. Our coaches guide you through your programs, provide technique coaching, and community support.
How does coaching work?
Coaching is a collaborative process. Our coaches work with you to understand your goals, your current roadblocks, and create a custom plan built around what you’ll need to succeed. We meet bi-monthly using Microsoft Teams and respond to your messages in VOLT within 24 hours Monday through Friday.
Will I be doing workouts with my coach?
Your coach will design your exercise program through Volt for you to complete on your own time. They will keep you accountable with your health and fitness goals through your coaching calls and through Volt Chat.
How long does a coaching session last?
The first coaching session is reserved for an hour. We like to take the time to learn about YOU! Your goals, family, values, dreams, barriers, and anything that you’d like to provide us so we can better help you.
After your first session, the coach will check in on your progress, make tweaks to your plan, and plan for upcoming situations.
How do I communicate with my coach?
The coaching operates in a fully virtual capacity, enabling you to engage with your coach via your phone or tablet.
Message your coach through Volt Chat anytime! Coaches will respond within 24 hours from Monday through Friday.
What if I need to cancel, skip, or reschedule a coaching session?
No problem! Our coaches are extremely flexible with your lifestyle. We ask that you provide a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. That way we can put someone on our waiting list into that spot for the day.
Appointments are booked very quickly and frequently with the coaches, so to keep you on track, please select the days/times that work best for you. That way you don’t have to wait a week out for your coaching session.
Will the Coach send me an exercise plan?
Yes! The coaches design your exercise routine through VOLT. This can be accessed through The Health and Fitness Center app (URFitAP-WCC).
Can I change my Coach?
We are here to support you and we’ll make sure to find a perfect match with one of our coaches. If you would like to switch coaches, please contact the Manager of Virtual Programming at: bhamill@powerwellness.com
How do I get setup on VOLT?
You can access Volt by clicking on the Volt tile in your center app. First-time users will then be prompted to download the Volt app. Log in using your email on your membership account and a unique password you create. Learn more at https://www.wccfitness.org/volt/ .

What do you expect from me?
Just communicate with us! The more you share, the better we can help.
Will I have to track my calories?
Tracking your calories is a personal choice. Our coaches work with YOUR lifestyle to help you with your eating habits.
Will there be a meal plan provided?
Specific day-to-day meals will not be provided through this service. If you are looking for day-to-day meals, please contact a Registered Dietitian. Our coaches don’t consider foods as “good” or “bad”, we support you with skills such as: mindfulness, stress management, portion control, healthy swaps, and more!
Can I have coaching without having to be a member of The Health and Fitness Center?
You must have a membership with The Health and Fitness Center to add-on an additional coaching membership. Billing for your Remote Health and Fitness Coaching membership comes out on the same day as your Center Membership.
How do I cancel my Coaching Membership?
