Jeanne Christie joined The Health and Fitness Center when it first opened. She worked next door at St. Joseph Hospital and felt it would be a good place to stop on her way home from work. Jeanne was overweight at the time and not very flexible. She used to run almost daily but family, work and life had interfered with her time.
When Jeanne first joined, she walked the track and used the weight machines on the first floor. Jeanne took a year off without attending but maintained her membership. Over the years she added a few classes here and there. Jeanne especially likes the Zumba® Gold and the stretch classes.
“I really liked the fitness center due to its cleanliness and the friendly staff who always greet me at the front desk and are willing to answer any of my questions. I increased my workouts for the two years before COVID became a problem. I was even able to participate in Debbie’s cardio workouts. Since the reopening, I now participate in multiple classes and still walk the track. I have lost some of the weight that I regained during the closing due to the pandemic,” said Jeanne.
Jeanne comes to the center at lease five times a week. She is having her knee replaced soon and expects The Health and Fitness Center to be part of her ongoing recovery.
“I particularly want to thank Arlene (Basic Body), Sandy (Sit and Fit), Marina (Sit and Fit and Stretch) and Krysta (Zumba Gold) for helping me achieve my current state of health. I think [The Health & Fitness Center] is a great place to work out. You can meet some wonderful people to work out with. I even downloaded the app and learned how to schedule classes online. I am now retired and coming to The Health and Fitness Center has become part of my daily routine. I have three granddaughters in California and I want to continue to be active with them. Coming to The Health and Fitness Center assures me that I can.”
