Each year in April, the Health Resource Network (HRN), a non-profit health education organization, sponsors Stress Awareness Month. This is a national, cooperative effort to inform people about the dangers of stress, successful coping strategies, and harmful misconceptions about stress that are prevalent in our society.
As we navigate these uncertain times, it’s especially important to take steps to relax and recharge. Here are our favorite tips to reduce stress:
Get Moving
Whether it’s a walk, run, indoor or outside exercise (practicing social distancing), take 20–30 minutes each day to move your body and get a fresh dose of endorphins to improve your mood and sleep.
Laugh Often
Create memories with family, watch your favorite comedy or hilarious video online, read something funny and more to keep your environment light and upbeat. This will improve your mood and immune system.
Explore Your Creative Side
Adult coloring has risen in popularity in the last few years, write, draw, paint, take photos and discover ways you can be creative.
